LAND SALE
Further to last month's Newsletter the Section 65 Certificate regarding the re-zoning of the proposed land sale was not forthcoming. An email was received from Crownland Developments indicating that there was a hiccup. They have been in contact with the State Development authorities and expect that the certificate will be issued at their next meeting in January.
For the benefit of members who do not have a clear understanding of what is proposed, the effect of the re-zoning applies to all freehold land owned by the Club. This will not affect the Clubhouse at all. There will be minor changes to the course, the first tee and 9th green will be changed slightly. The Pro Shop will be relocated a few metres north of its present position. Only 2850 square metres at the south-western corner is for sale. Nothing else on the course will be altered.
JAZZ
Jazz on the Greens is proving to be very popular and will continue on the last Sunday of the months of January, February, March and April from 4pm until 7pm. The BBQ pack raffles will also continue every Sunday in January.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
On the 2nd Friday of the months of February, March and April we will have a Live Band playing all your favourites in the View Room after the raffles. So come and Dine and Dance the evening away.
INFORMATION EVENINGS
The Board has decided that all members should be kept up to date and informed on all aspects of the Club's activities. Therefore it has been decided to hold Information Evenings throughout the year. All members are invited and questions will be welcomed.
It is proposed to hold a welcome night for our new members to meet the Board. A rules night with Bob Morris our Captain presenting a video on the rules of golf. And a general discussion on all aspects of the Club's future. Hopefully members will put their thoughts forward to assist the Board in making decisions.
COURSE IRRIGATION SYSTEM
Work should commence as per the plans for the new irrigation system in March 2009. The Board would like to stress that there should be no cost to the Club to install this system.

BINGO
As always at this time of the year there will be Cash Bingo every Tuesday and Thursday throughout January. Children are welcome but must remain in the company of their parents or guardians. All profits go to charity. The games start at 5.45pm and tickets are on sale from 5pm
VETERANS' WEEK OF GOLF
As mentioned previously, the Annual Vets' Week of Golf commences on Monday 9th February and is totally booked out. Murray Thomas is still looking for volunteers for starting, ball spotting, bunker raking, etc. If you are available for a few hours please contact Murray.
RAFFLES
For the benefit of our many visitors here at this time of the year, our usual Wednesday and Friday evening raffles will still be on. Tickets on sale Wednesday from 4.30pm and the raffle drawn at 5.45pm, and on Friday 5.30pm and drawn at 6.45pm
There are 40 meat trays of about the same value to be won plus 2 monster meat trays at the end of the raffle.
Every Sunday in January there will be a raffle drawn at 7pm with tickets on sale from 5.30pm. There will be 30 BBQ packs plus 2 large meat trays at the end.
Schooner Draw tickets can be purchased at any time over the bar for $2 per ticket. Prizes are in multiples of 4 starting with 20 schooners as 1st prize.
We start with the Schooner Tickets draw and end with the Members' Badge draw.
ST. VALENTINE'S DAY
Remember Saturday 14th February, when we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day with a Night of Fine Dining in the Greens Room.
Bookings may be made at the office from January. The cost will be $40 per person.
Kowan and Erin of Woodlands Bistro have assured us that the food will be great. The menu will be available when making your booking.
VETERANS
The Hawks Nest Veterans resume on Tuesday 20th January and the Myall Coast Veterans resume on Thursday 22nd January. Timesheets will be available soon.
